The FIFA world cup which is held every 4 years has been won by 8 national teams in total, with Brazil winning 5 different times.

Italy and Germany have won four times each, Uruguay, France, and Argentina have won 2 times each, England and Spain have won once each. 

Nigeria’s Super Eagles currently ranked 36th in the world and 5th in Africa by FIFA – Fédération Internationale de Football Association. 

Nigeria made its first appearance in the world cup finals in 1994 where the Super Eagles team reached the second round. Nigeria has advanced from the group stage to the round of 16 three different times in 1994, 1998, and 2014 and they lost all three times in the round of 16.
