The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has shocked other candidates to emerge victorious in the election held on Saturday and Sunday. in Lagos.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi polled 582,354 votes to beat his closest rival, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 582,354.

Trailing Tinubu is the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, who got 75,750 votes. Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Adewole Adebayo of Social Democratic Party (SDP) garnered 8,442 and 772 votes, respectively.
The total number of registered votes amounted to 6,942,885, while accredited voters were estimated at 1,347,152. The number of valid votes were 1,271,451; rejected votes were 64,278; just as total votes cast stood at 1,335,729.
Tinubu is a former Lagos State governor who is seen as a political strong man in the state.
